Mr. Ewing is the founding principle of Compass. He is certified in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH). Mr. Ewing also holds the sub-specialty of the indoor environmental quality (IEQ). Mr. Ewing's responsibilities with Compass include managing and providing technical direction on IAQ, industrial hygiene and environmental projects. Mr. Ewing is also responsible for research projects, preparation of papers, publications, and quality assurance. Since 1978, Mr. Ewing has conducted numerous industrial hygiene, asbestos management, and environmental studies. In the field of industrial hygiene he has conducted over 200 field investigations including textile mills, foundries, steel mills, health care facilities, chemical plants, and manufacturing operations. His experience includes indoor air quality projects at office settings, hospitals, and studies involving off-gassing of volatile compounds from products. Since 1980, he has conducted environmental site assessments for property owners, developers, mortgage bankers, and insurance companies. In the field of asbestos management and control, he has conducted surveys of over 1200 facilities, including commercial office buildings, schools, hospitals, ships, industrial plants, and government facilities. Through his array of experience, Mr. Ewing has authored or co-authored approximately twenty research papers which were published in publications such as American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, Occupational Health and Safety, Pediatrics, Econ, Asbestos Issues, Journal of Infectious Disease, Microscope, and Environmental Choices. |
